Suunto Vertical comes equipped with detailed offline maps that are accessible worldwide at no cost. Building on Suunto’s advanced route navigation in the Suunto app, these new maps offer easy route discovery and creation through heatmaps, 3D maps, and road surface-type layers. Synchronizing these maps to the watch is effortless, providing users with offline access for enhanced safety and confidence.

“As its name states, the Suunto Vertical is a watch for those aiming to keep moving upwards and onwards, always improving their potential in the outdoors. Its robustness, its size – plus the free online maps wherever you are in the world – tell you everything you need to know; this is a watch for people who live and breathe adventure,” said Petri Lehtovirta, Suunto’s Head of Product.

Setting a new benchmark for battery life, Suunto Vertical surpasses its competitors with an impressive 85 hours of continuous exercise tracking on the titanium solar variant and 60 hours on the stainless steel variant. Additionally, the tour mode offers 500 hours of continuous exercise tracking, while the daily mode lasts up to 60 days and up to one year without charging in the titanium solar variant.

Suunto Vertical can connect with up to five satellite systems simultaneously, including GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU, and QZSS. This multi-system compatibility, combined with Dual Frequency technology, ensures accurate tracking even in challenging environments like mountainous terrains or urban areas with tall buildings.

“Suunto Vertical doesn’t sacrifice accuracy for longer battery life. It communicates with all five major satellite systems via Dual Frequency – an express lane for a faster, reliable signal. This is important, especially when running in the mountains and valleys or in a city between tall buildings,” Lehtovirta said.

Environmental Focus

Environmental sustainability is at the core of Suunto’s values. Suunto Vertical is proudly manufactured in Finland at Suunto’s own factory, powered by 100% renewable energy. The watch’s carbon footprint has been calculated, verified, and fully compensated with Verified Carbon Units. The titanium solar variant produces a mere 6.59 kg of CO2e during its entire lifespan, equivalent to driving a combustion engine car for 39 km.

Crafted with attention to detail, Suunto Vertical combines functional Finnish design with premium materials such as sapphire glass, stainless steel, and titanium in select models. These timepieces undergo rigorous testing to meet military standards of toughness, earning the validation of world-class athletes.

”Designed with great care and precision, Suunto Vertical’s design and details pay homage to the ultimate instrument, Suunto’s original compass. But when designing Suunto Vertical, we have also reimagined our design language,” said Mikko Ahlströmm Suunto’s head of design.

“The entire case construction is extremely optimized for the best possible performance, and the clearly articulated buttons are easy to find and press, even with gloves on,” Ahlströmm

While Suunto Vertical is a premium adventure watch, it also excels as an everyday exercise companion. The large screen ensures easy readability of metrics while in motion. This new watch also offers more than 95 sport modes to choose from, including trail running, gravel cycling, and paragliding. Users can even create their own custom sport modes using the Suunto app or explore additional sport apps and guides in the SuuntoPlus Store.
