Grill Gazebo Reviews

#1 ABCCANOPY Grill Gazebo Shelter

ABCCANOPY Grill Gazebo Shelter at a Glance:

  • Frame: Powder-coated steel
  • Size: 8′ L x 4.74′ W x 8.5’ H
  • Roof: Polyester
  • Other: Built-in LED lights

Grill gazebos have grown pretty recently in popularity, which means there’s a good chance you’ve never used or had one before. That can make it difficult to figure out what makes the best grill gazebo. Well, we’re going to start off with one of the crowd favorites: the ABCCANOPY Gazebo Shelter.

You’ll get the choice between 11 different colors, including shades like Caramel, Burgundy, Forest Green, Gray, and many other sophisticated options. Each one contrasts well against the black frame and is guaranteed to add an air of elegance to your space.

Speaking of the frame, this one is made from a tough alloy steel. While strong on its own, that’s only enhanced with a powder coat finish that resists corrosion, rust, scratching, chipping, etc.

Moving on to the roof, it’s made of a polyester material also designed to withstand years of consistent use. The polyester actually offers UV protection and is water-resistant. This is beneficial for those under the gazebo, but also your grill!

Grills last much longer if they’re protected from the sun and rain, and makes for a better grill experience.

Once the sun goes down, it may be a bit challenging to keep the area underneath a gazebo well-lit. That’s why we really appreciated the built-in LED lights which not only make it easier to see, but instantly add a nice ambience.

The 2 built-in shelves are also made of steel and make it easy to keep cooking accessories nearby or even serve food on. You’ll find hooks underneath too, to keep pots, pans, spatulas, tongs, etc.

Assembly is really easy, and even more so if you have someone to help you out.

#2 COBANA Grill Gazebo Outdoor Patio BBQ Canopy

COBANA Grill Gazebo Outdoor Patio BBQ Canopy at a Glance:

  • Frame: Powder coated steel
  • Size: 8′ L X 4.6′ W x 7’ H
  • Roof: Polyester
  • Other: 4 pothooks

Next up, we bring you the COBANA Grill Gazebo. We were instantly drawn to this model due to the unique roof that is rounded, unlike the angled roofs that most best BBQ shelter tents come with.

This makes for rain to roll off effectively and comes with a polyester roof cover which helps protect people and their grill from the sun while keeping things cool.

Not only that, but it comes in 4 different, beautiful shades: Red, Navy Blue, Beige, and Gray. The frame of each one is also black, much like the previous model. The black powder coating serves to preserve its resilience to keep rust away, but also just looks more uniform.

The polyester top comes with a waterproof coating to keep moisture from seeping through and is also fade-resistant.

Assembly is pretty average, it shouldn’t take more than an hour especially is you have a partner to help you out, but once together it’s very sturdy.

The all-metal frame comes with two 45” x 9.8” grid metal shelves which is great for keeping tableware and food. 4 extra pothooks make BBQing a breeze, as you can keep all grilling accessories within an arm’s reach.

Just to keep your gazebo safe and secure in the ground, you have 4 tent peg holes on each foot which is necessary if you live in an area that experiences heavy winds.

#3 Outsunny BBQ Grill Gazebo

Outsunny BBQ Grill Gazebo at a Glance:

  • Frame: Aluminum, Steel
  • Size:  8.4′ L x 5.2′ W x 8′ H
  • Roof: Polycarbonate
  • Other: 8 ground stakes included

Outsunny puts out some pretty awesome gazebos, but the Outsunny 8’x5’ BBQ Grill Gazebo is probably our favorite. If you’re searching for the best grill shelter in terms of durability, this one should be at the top of your list. Instead of a polyester roof, this model comes with a sturdy polycarbonate material.

Made to hold up to all types of weather conditions, the PC board offers UV 50+ protection and keep the rain off you and your grill.

The 2 side shelves let you place everything securely on them, until you’re ready to serve the delicious results.

This frame does feel more heavy-duty than many others, which is due to the steel pipe the majority of the frame is comprised of. The two-layered metal roof lets any smoke rise out to keep those lungs breathing clear.

Assembly is really simple and straightforward until you get to the roof. Really, this is going to be pretty challenging unless you have someone to help you out with the corrugated metal panels.

#4 Sojag Mykonos Hardtop Grill Gazebo

Sojag Mykonos Hardtop Grill Gazebo at a Glance:

  • Frame: Aluminum, Steel
  • Size: 8′ L x 5′ W x 8′ H
  • Roof: Steel
  • Other: Powder-coated for rust prevention

We love the industrial vibes coming from the Sojag Mykonos Hardtop Grill Gazebo. If you’re on the search for the best metal grill gazebo, this one was hard to beat. As you’ve probably already figured out, it’s made of entirely metal: aluminum and steel alloy.

While there are definitely plenty of people who prefer a soft polyester roof, if you really want the most durable this is the way to go. It’s also more convenient in a way, as it weighs 228 pounds and mounting it to the ground is simple. You can be assured it’s not going anywhere!

With a powder-coated finish, it protects against corrosion, rust, UV rays, moisture, and more. This is truly an all-season gazebo perfect for all types of seasons, environments, etc. It’s certified flame-resistant to meet international safety standards.

Needless to say, it’s incredibly long-lasting and can handle just about anything that comes its way. You’ll find 2 metal shelves built-in as well in order to store accessories, pots, pans, drinks, food, and whatever else you want.

The only thing we would have liked to see is the addition of some hooks to hang tools and accessories so you can also keep the shelves just for plates, drinks, and food.

#5 Eurmax Grill Gazebo Shelter

Eurmax Grill Gazebo Shelter at a Glance:

  • Frame: Steel
  • Size:  8′ L x 5′ W x 8′ H
  • Roof: Polyester
  • Other: Built-in LEDs

Another simplistic, elegant design, the Eurmax Grill Shelter is one of those “best bang for your buck” items. Coming with a double-tier roof, it combines great air ventilation and smoke dissipation with protection from the elements. Not only that, but it’s beautiful, coming in 4 different colors: Khaki, Brown, Burgundy, and Gray.

The steel frame, just like every other on our guide, comes with a black powder-coated finish. This makes it resistant against rust and just makes it more long-lasting which is ideal for outside use. The roof is also durable, as it’s made with a UV-resistant polyester.

We did notice it’s not 100% waterproof, as during heavy rainfall, it can seep through a bit. On the underside of the roof, you’ll find a bonus LED light which is great for maximum visibility at night.

What’s even cooler than that? A bottle opener built right into the frame! No one will remain thirsty under your watch! With 2 built-in shelves, you can set grilling accessories and plates, along with the 5 included hooks for your tools.

While assembly is a bit time-consuming, it’s one of the sturdier gazebos we’ve had the pleasure of using. The strong, square column legs remain tall and won’t waiver in high winds.

#6 CHARMELEON Double Tiered Grill Gazebo

CHARMELEON Double Tiered Grill Gazebo at a Glance:

  • Frame: Steel
  • Size: 8′ L x 5′ W x 8.3′ H
  • Roof: Polyester
  • Other: Easy to transport

The CHARMELEON Double Tiered Grill Gazebo is straightforward, sophisticated, and perfect for keeping you and others well-shaded. Coming in 3 different colors, you can select from Brown, Burgundy, and Beige. With an elegant, black frame, it complements the roof colors quite well.

Made of polyester like the others on our guide, the roof offers protection against UV rays and is also waterproof. This is obviously a great option then, if you are in an area that gets “seasons”. Just remember that if you get snow as well, don’t let it pile up.

This is more of a portable model anyway, as it’s smaller, easier to transport, pack up, and carry around. If you need some weather protection while at a park, camping, etc. then this is the best grill tent for you!

You’ll find something in this model that you won’t find on the others: a collapsible awning!

It doesn’t cost much more but makes such a big difference as it not only expands canopy tent space to cover more people but helps keep UV rays and rain from hitting you and your grill.

With 2 built-in shelves, they are great to pull up a chair to and use as little side tables, keep food until it’s ready to be served, or just keep silverware, plates, and cups. One comes with hooks for you to hang your cooking tools, and you’ll also get a built-in bottle opener which is an absolute crowd pleaser!

#7 MasterCanopy Double Tiered Outdoor BBQ Gazebo Canopy

MasterCanopy Double Tiered Outdoor BBQ Gazebo at a Glance:

  • Frame: Powder coated steel
  • Size: 8′ L x 5′ W x 8.5′ H
  • Roof: Polyester
  • Other: Built-in LED lights

If you want the best grill tent for those on a budget, the MasterCanopy BBQ Gazebo is it.

It’s actually surprising how affordable this model is when you consider how well-built and attractive it is. You can choose from 5 different shades: Khaki, Khaki with Brown Stitching, Brown, Gray, and Green.

As is typical for the tents on our guide, this frame is made of steel with a powder coating. The dark gray coating offers a more rustic look, but also serves to keep rust and corrosion away. With 6 support poles at the top of the roof, it helps move water off of it and adds to its stability.

This gazebo also includes a vented, double-tiered top to let smoke come out without letting in the sun’s rays or rain. The polyester top offers UV 50+ protection and is super easy to clean and maintain as well.

2 handy shelves are built-in and are just a tiny bit smaller than the others we’ve used but still work just as well. You’ll also find various hooks under one to hang pots and pans, spatulas, and more.

For both day and night use, they’ve included 2 LED lights on the inner side of the roof so it’ll always be well-lit so you can see what your doing while grilling. Not to mention, it looks pretty cool at night when they’re turned on!

How to Choose the Best Grill Gazebo – Buying Guide

best bbq shelters
Sojag Mykonos Hardtop Grill Gazebo

Now that you know all about the best grill gazebos out there, have you selected which one you want? If you’re still deciding or aren’t sure which one to choose, then we’re here to help. We’ve decided to go ahead and write up a thorough buying guide that will take you step-by-step through each consideration to make. By the time you’re finished, there will be no doubt which one is perfect for you and your grilling needs!

Size

First off, you’re going to want to figure out the size of the gazebo that you need. Most people will be fine with your average gazebo size of 8′ x 5′ , unless you have a particularly large grill or are really tight on space.

For the best result, we highly recommend you simply get out your tape measure out and measure out how much space you need covered by the canopy. If you’d like to fit seating or a table under the canopy, take that extra space into consideration as well.

Also think about if you hope to be able fit chairs and tables under your canopy.  If you do, just make sure to measure out the space needed and get a canopy that’s big enough for your needs.

Portability

By now, you probably already have an idea of where and how you want to use your grill tent. Will you be taking it to tailgates? Camping? To the park? If so, then you’ll need something that is lightweight and that you can pack up and carry around without issue.

Maybe you want something sturdy and more permanent that will just stay in an allocated part of your yard, deck, or patio. These will usually be heavier anyway, but also come with kits for you to mount it to the ground so it won’t fall over or go anywhere during heavy winds.

The latter will typically be more expensive, though will last you so much longer. All in all, you’ll either spend around the same or save money with the more durable models.

Frame

There’s really not much diversity here, as every single model on our guide comes with a metal frame. Some are made of aluminum, while the vast majority are made of steel. Let’s take a look at each type so you can make the best decision:

Aluminum – Aluminum is pretty durable, and is much more lightweight and usually a bit more affordable than steel. Aluminum is more well-suited for portable options due to its lighter weight, making it easier to carry around. While it is still a tough metal, it’s not quite as heavy-duty as steel.

Steel – Steel is a bit more expensive than aluminum, though steel is the most durable of the two and will ultimately “pay off” when you account for this. If you live in an environment with more extreme weather conditions or are looking for something more permanent, steel is preferable.

No matter which type you choose, you absolutely need a powder coating. Metal is vulnerable to rusting and corrosion when exposed to moisture, and powder coating will protect against that. Not only that, but it can keep the metal from becoming scratched or discolored.

Roof

9 times out of 10, the roof will be made out of a polyester fabric. Polyester is an excellent choice for a gazebo roof as it’s relatively inexpensive, comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns, and is durable. Polyester can be coated to make it resistant to UV rays and moisture, so that rain just slides off instead of leaking through.

Most polyester roofs are washable and fade-resistant so maintenance is easy and the roof will keep its new good looks well.

There are other roofs that are made of a polycarbonate material or even metal. These are definitely less portable, more sturdy options that are ideal if your main priority is durability. You can expect these roofs to up the price of the gazebo a bit, but again, they’ll last longer.

Side Tables

Most of the gazebos on our guide come with side tables. These are really handy to have, as you can keep any plates, food, or beverages within arm’s reach without bringing in a separate table to do so.

You can also use these as little countertops, which means you really have an all-in-one tent and can see everyone enjoying your delicious eats and beverages.

On some side tables, you may find some hooks hanging underneath. We really recommend getting one with hooks, even if you don’t thing you’ll need them.

These let you hang your pots, pans, and tools so you don’t have to use the tables to do so and maximize available space.

While it’s not incorporated in every design, some even feature a built-in bottle opener right on the frame itself! This means that you’ll always have cold beverages open and ready to quench you and your guests’ thirst!

Price

How much do you feel comfortable with spending on a top rated grill tent? We suggest coming up with a number and setting a budget for yourself before you start shopping, so you can narrow down your options to models that aren’t outside of it.

You can feel confident that there are plenty of options available, no matter what your budget may be. Again, the more durable/heavier-built options are ones that are typically more expensive.

FAQs About Grill Gazebos

Q: Can I use a smoker under a grill gazebo?

A: You absolutely can! Every single grill gazebo on our guide offer excellent air flow, which will help blow excess heat and smoke out from under it.

Q: Are grill gazebos worth it?

A: Definitely. Grilling is a blast, but you don’t want to be stuck under the hot sunlight, rain, etc. If you’ve grilled before, you know you’re pretty much there wherever the grill is – it’s not like you’re going to be able to shield yourself as your hands will be occupied, too. Grill gazebos will protect you from harmful UV rays and raindrops. Not only that, but it just adds to the visual aspect of your yard or patio.

Q: What is the purpose of a grill gazebo?

A: Firstly, you’ll be able to protect your grill or smoker in all types of weather conditions. They often come with at least 2 shelves for you to place food, plates, and drinks on and let you conveniently hang pots and pans underneath. You’ll also be able to grill safely, as the best models are UV-resistant and often waterproof.

Q: How do you anchor a grill gazebo?

A: This is of course going to vary depending on the model, and some will already come with their own methods of doing so. However, if yours doesn’t, secure yours by pushing gazebo stakes into the ground in each corner of the gazebo. You can then use a strong rope or a thick cord to thread through the stakes and up to the crossbars of each of the corners of the gazebo’s interior side of the roof.

Tips For Choosing Grill Gazebos

#1: Consider the weather in your area.

If you get more rain, for example, you may want to get one with a pull-out awning. These can be adjusted to more effectively keep out wind and rain and can better shield you from the sun as well.

#2: If you’re someone who’ll likely be grilling a lot at night, make sure your grill gazebo comes with LED lights.

This may be a seemingly small feature, but it makes a massive difference in visibility and thus, safety.

#3: Make sure that you have the proper environment for a gazebo.

If you can, place the gazebo on an open spot away from your home, outbuildings and any trees. Also consider the amount of sunlight: does it get enough sun without being too shaded or too bright on sunny days? Is the site exposed or sheltered? Are there any overhanging trees that could get in the way?

Summary

Now that you’re pretty much an expert on all the best grill gazebos, have you decided on the perfect grill shelter for what you’re looking for? If not, then you can rest easy knowing that no matter which one you select from our guide, you’ll be getting one of the best possible.

However, what’s most important is that you’ve selected something that suits your needs perfectly. We hope that our guide has been able to help you do just that. Thanks for tuning in, and we’ll see you again shortly!
