That is followed by the 3rd stroke, which is the piston pushing out the exhaust from the combustion.

Once that is complete, the 4th stroke is the piston returning to position again as it pulls new fuel/air mixture into the cylinder for the next combustion cycle.

This is a much more efficient process as far as saving fuel and reducing emissions. That’s because the exhaust is pushed out before new fuel is pulled in instead of both things happening simultaneously.

Leaf blowers with 4-stroke engines are quite a bit heavier than options with comparable 2-stroke engines. This can greatly reduce convenience and comfort.

Although, with a 4-stroke engine, you will also be avoiding mixing oil and gas before fueling as 4-stroke options have a separate oil compartment.

The horsepower of an engine is simply another way to measure the power output of the engine. The term horsepower first originated when steam engines started replacing horses in work situations.
